Works in traditional form
- Stylish and practical furniture that reminds of space -
Byobu(Screen):
Both a decorative and a practical artition, with which you can bring
the seasons into your living space. There're various shapes and sizes of
them. There is one called "Furo-saki-byobu( a two-fold screen placed behind
of the brazier )". It originally meant the border between what sacred and
not, but it now is more of the declaration of the border between the host's
working space and the guest's seat, while it amuses the guest with its picture(or handwriting).
Jikuso(A scroll):
A picture to be casually hanged on the
Tokonoma(Alcove)-wall or other place, and changed from time to time. It can
be rolled up to be kept when not in use. Since it is replaced monthly, it
is also called "Tukinami-e (A picture changed as month passes)". It
could be matched with a modern room, as well as it does with a traditional
Japanese alcove.
Harimaze:
Originally, a fusuma(Japanese sliding door) or a byobu, on which some old
pictures, songs, and other handwritings are gathered, to compose a world on
it. The works amuse people by letting them seek for the theme lying there.
Here, pictures of different elements are gathered into one canvas. |
